WJ Approves New Draft Law in 3 Chapters and 2 Articles

KABUL - The Wolesi Jirga (WJ) or Lower House of the Parliament on Wednesday approved the draft law on communication services in three chapters and two articles.

According to the law, 10 percent tax will be given from the telephone mobile services.

The Parliament has also passed the amendments to the Income Tax Law and transit law and approved three legislative decrees.

“We have approved three decrees; Nuclear energy, agricultural pesticides and procurement laws,” said Muhammad Nazir Ahmad Zai, second deputy speaker of Parliament.

Meanwhile, the financial ministry praised the decision of Wolesi Jirga, saying with approving this law Afghanistan will reach to self-sufficiency in terms of tax.

“Because of the value of income sources and commitment to the people, the parliament approved the law,” said Aklil Hakemi, finance minister.

Previously, the Wolesi Jirga has rejected Presidential decree on allowing 10 % tax from credit cards of mobile phones. (ATN)
