Some Neighbors are Exporting Terrorism: Ghani

Some Neighbors are Exporting Terrorism: Ghani

ASHGABAT - President Ashraf Ghani has once again criticized some regional countries for not wanting peace and stability in the region and said they instead "export terrorism".

While talking to the International Neutrality Conference in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, Ghani said that instead of cooperation, some regional countries are exporting terrorism.

During his speech on Saturday, Ghani hailed the role of Turkmenistan for staying neutral and said that the country has proved to be a good neighbor of Afghanistan.

He said that some neighbors have been exporting terrorism instead of increasing their assistance but Turkmenistan has extended its hand of cooperation.

"The policy of Turkmenistan is a good example for regional countries to strengthen relations with neighbors and neutrally focus on cooperation and economic growth," he said.

Ghani added that the neutral policy of Turkmenistan has opened doors of opportunities for peace and stability in the region, and as well this policy has been the cause of several achievements of the country.

"Today, instead of asking for assistance, Turkmenistan helps others," he said.

Ghani said that Afghanistan has historical ties with Turkmenistan. We want to further strengthen this relationship, he added.

Ghani is currently on a two-day official visit to the northern neighbor where he will inaugurate the TAPI gas line project on Sunday. The key gas line will export natural gas from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan on to Pakistan and India. (Tolonews)
