KABUL - Strongly condemning civilian deaths in recent terrorist attacks, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah on Monday said those killing innocent people should wait for their own death as well.

The CEO said the national unity government would not remain silent against terrorist groups in the country.

A day earlier, 27 civilians and six security personnel were killed and 23 others wounded in a suicide bombing in southeastern Khost province.

Another 10 civilians were killed in a roadside bomb in central Kapisa province.

A statement from the CEO office said such attacks by the enemies of Afghanistan were not acceptable by any means.

“I strongly condemn these attacks. Such actions of the Taliban show they are dictated by their foreign handlers to kill Afghans and achieve their ominous goals,” the statement quoted Abdullah as saying.

He said the national unity government was sincere in peace talks and would allow no one to target civilians.

“We will take strong action against those who want to spread terror in Afghanistan,” the CEO added.

Abdullah said Afghan security forces would not remain quiet and were ready to frustrate terrorists’ plans.

“Our doors are open if anyone wants peace; but those who continue to fight and kill civilians, they should wait for their death as well,” he said.

Abdullah, during a visit to northeastern Badakhshan province today, also said Afghan forces would continue fighting terrorists and the Afghan people would be mobilised against them.

The CEO arrived in Badakhshan in the afternoon to meet local officials and tribal elders and listen to their problems. (Pajhwok)
