KABUL - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and former vice-president on Monday stressed to protect gains achieved in the past 13 years in Afghanistan during the peace negotiation.

Speaking at a gathering to mark the first death anniversary of former first-vice president Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim, Abdullah said that national interest and people’s right were his government top priorities during peace negations with Taliban.

“The right of girls and boys education will be safeguarded in the peace talks,” he said, adding that efforts for peace negotiations were underway but it would not damage national interests.

“We don’t like war and violence is the work of those who are playing others’ hands,” Abdullah remarked.

He said that 173 security personnel have been killed in the past two weeks during violence in the country, asking nation to fully back their security forces.

“If they accept law of the land and stop insurgency then we welcome them as it is their own country,” he reiterated. (Pajhwok)
