KABUL - The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Tuesday said the audit of 20,500 out of 23,000 ballot boxes or 90 percent of votes has been completed.

IEC spokesman Noor Mohammad Noor told reporters 60 percent audit of 6,000 special votes had also been completed.

Since the start of full audit, 20,501 ballot boxes had so far been scrutinized, containing 90 percent of all votes, Noor said, adding audit of the remaining votes would be finished soon.

He said results of the audit involving 18,189 ballot boxes had been entered to the system and results of 16,992 of the boxes had been prepared.

Noor continued 13,076 of the ballot boxes had already been decided in presence of Afghan and international observers and decisions on more ballot boxes would be made today. (Pajhwok)
