KABUL - Afghan-Army31At least 275 Taliban militants were killed during military operations conducted by Afghan national security forces during the past one week.

Interior ministry spokesman, Sediq Sediqi said the militants were killed during 53 separate operations conducted in various provinces of Afghanistan.

Sediqi further added that nearly 80 militants were also arrested during the operations.

The remarks by interior ministry comes as the Taliban militants group launched its summer offensive on Monday.

Militants carried out a deadly attack on a government building in eastern Afghanistan and fired rockets near Kabul’s main airport and the US-run Bagram airfield.

Taliban also carried out attacks in 21 provinces of Afghanistan including eastern Ghazni province where around 300 militants attacked various check posts of the Afghan security forces. (KP)
