Ahmadinejad Not to Head Next OPEC Meeting in Vienna

TEHRAN - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would not head the next meeting of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) slated for June 8 in Austria's Vienna, although Ahmadinejad is the caretaker of Iran's Oil Ministry, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported on Monday.
On Wednesday, Iranian Vice President for parliamentary affairs Mohammad-Reza Mirtajeddini said that Ahmadinejad would head the upcoming meeting of OPEC next month.

One of the Iranian cabinet members would attend the Vienna meeting as the president of OPEC, said Mehr without specifying the Iranian official who may lead the meeting.
Iran currently holds the one-year rotating presidency of the OPEC. (Xinhua)
