MOSCOW- The China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation has stood the test of time and remains relevant, a spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry said Friday.
"Twenty years of experience dedicated to the progressive deepening of bilateral ties demonstrates that the treaty has successfully stood the test of time, and its provisions continue to remain relevant in modern conditions," Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said during her weekly briefing.
On June 28, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a joint statement, officially deciding to extend the treaty.
Russia is committed to further realizing the potential of the treaty and deepening its ties with China in a wide range of areas, Zakharova added. (Xinhua)
