Protecting Country’s Sovereignty!

There have been many events that can be taken as an attack on the sovereignty of the country. The administration of private prisons by the foreign forces and managing them without considering the laws and judicial guidelines of the country has long been brought into light and many a times, government protested against any such act that violated the state laws or neglected the sovereignty of the country.

Similarly, President Karzai repeatedly condemned the delays and hindrances in the handover of notorious Bagram prison where a number of prisons were kept without any consent or knowledge of state authorities. This was taken as a direct ignorance of the voice of government and its laws and sovereignty.

Similarly, military operations conducted by the NATO and US forces without the prior knowledge of Afghan Security Forces that resulted in the death of dozens of innocent citizens was so much repeated and condemned that it resulted in a mass outrage and increasing public hatred.

No doubt, our allied countries and their forces have done a lot to bring stability in the country and bring it on the path of democracy and development but until and unless the sovereignty of the country is not respected and its laws are not upheld, problems will not be solved and it would only add to the complications of the situation in the country.

Sovereignty of a country is so important that it is mentioned in the beginning of every constitution and necessary laws are made to safeguard it because when the sovereignty of a country is not upheld and preferred, the whole system of democracy crashes and the clashes between the state organs result in chaos and tyranny.

On the other hand, it also shows that words of our state heads are not taken much seriously and they are not given due importance.

In order to keep the things in order, it is necessary to make clear to our allies that they need to respect the sovereignty of Afghanistan and give due importance to the orders of the heads of government.

It is clear that some of the foreign forces would remain in country after their exit of 2014. In this regard, it is necessary that their authority and limits should be thoroughly discussed and finalized so that the country's sovereignty should not be put into stake. This would ensure the long-term stability of the system of democracy in the country.
