Developments can not be Neglected

War on Terrorism is in its tenth year which is not a short period. The world stood behind US when in 2001 after 9/11 attacks it decided to launch operation against terrorism in Afghanistan under the name 'endeavoring freedom.' However, this main objective has not yet been achieved despite the men and money sacrifices. The popularity of the war in eyes of both public and governments in the West has significantly decreased.

In spite of many objections on the war at regional and international level, foundations for democracy, freedom of expression, women rights, education and economic growth that have been led in the last years, can be ignored. Afghan National Army (ANA) is serving as the most creditable organization today.

Unquestionably, the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) do not have the capability to defend Afghanistan on their own and require much more training and equipments. But they are the source of Afghan's hope. Many international allies led by US have decided to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan. This withdrawal will be possible only because the ANA and police are nurturing to become a competent force against the enemies of Afghanistan.

The constitutional law of Afghanistan is another prominent achievement. Most importantly all the ethnic groups living in Afghanistan have agreed to this law and emphasize on its full implementation on every Afghan. The constitution of Afghanistan has also paved the way for democracy in the country. The president, members of parliament and provincial councils are being elected through a democratic process in which the whole authority has been delegated to the people of Afghanistan.

Besides the military support, the international community is assisting in reconstructing the economical and other physical and non-physical infrastructures of Afghanistan. Although security is hampering developments in Afghanistan, basis for business and investment of both Afghans and foreigners have been formed. Insecurity has no doubt grown since couple of years. But the Afghans are still hopeful for a bright and peaceful future of their country. They are expecting the international community to leave gifting them a militancy-free country.
