Insurgency Paralyzes the Development Process

With the approach of the international coalition forces withdrawal from Afghanistan, the security situation is getting tense in the country. The brutal insurgents are fully determined to continue their deadly activities against the government and international forces. Afghan government wants to prolong the reintegration and reconciliation program, while the Taliban and other insurgent groups are trying to overthrow the Afghan government, and force the international forces to leave the country, therefore launching their deadly attacks and submissive terroristic activities.

The government authorities are aware of on going situation but they are not able to respond properly to the possible security threats. The security situation is getting worse day by day it seems that that the governments is no longer able to provide security for the afghan people or to fight audaciously against the cruel armed insurgents.

The counterterrorism policy should be changed and there should be a national and international consensus against the Afghanistan based international terrorism. The government should have the support of political parties and ethnic minorities.

Overcoming the political crisis and insecurity tension there is a great need for political consensus, social harmonies among Afghan communities. Ignoring the political justice by the president Karzai and marginalizing the ethnic minorities from the political power has created a great uncertainty and distrust among the political and ethnic leaders which is very damaging for the counterterrorism process and establishing of functioning government.

The government is tangled among the triangle of insurgency, narcotics and corruption which has paralyzed the government. The government to prolong its half dead life has to strongly stand against the armed and violent insurgents.
