Constitution Should be Upheld

At last the months’ wait is going to be over and we are to hear the good news about the conclusion of the presidential elections which crippled the economy and added manifolds to the miseries of the masses. The prevailing situation is really ambiguous and time will decide as how these complex situations are going to be solved.

It appears that none of the parties are willing to accept its defeat and victory of the other camp. On the other hand, people and experts are also much doubtful about the result of recounting of votes. At the same time, there have been some meeting between the two parties for the formation of a coalition government but its shapes are also not clear and there are so many fears that the parties may not come to agree upon such a government and future functioning of any such government may also be very difficult.

However, all the eyes are beamed for the completion of the recounting process and transition of power to the new government. The extended delay in the process has made lot many concerned and the US president and British PM also called the presidential candidates to extend their sincere cooperation for the completion of election process and smooth transition of the government.

At present, everyone is asserting pressure on the presidential candidates to bring an end to the stalemate in the electoral process and people are ready to accept any kind of setup that should end this deadlock because our economy can no more withstand this halt in the economy and overall condition and morale of people have also badly plummeted.

In such conditions, any option, be it within the circle of constitution or not, is going to win the approval of people that should ensure the deadlock. Same is the view of political experts who want that this deadlock should come to its end, whatever may be the path to follow. All the international powers are also looking to an end for this stalemate, whatever may be the path to achieve this. However, the constitution and its guidelines work as the backbone of democracy.

For this single time only, when this wrong act can be supported for a good purpose, we can ignore any action against constitution aimed for solving this problem but this should not be our practice for any future event. The constitution should be upheld and at any cost, it should not be ignored. Otherwise, we will never be able to get maturity in democracy and threat of losing the true benefits of democracy will always be there.
